Hi, i plan to make a quilt for my nephew's 4th birthday, help me with the dimensions?

but the problem is i dont know how many pieces of fabric (as in each block's size) for the patch work and colored block fabrics. the size of the quilt would be 57X82 inches. can someone give me the measurements?? it would be a block quilt. please help!!
