My wife lost her 1.1CT diamond engagement ring 20 months after our wedding. What should we do?

In the past I've indicated number of times that the ring is too loose on her finger so she will need to go to a jeweler to fix it but was never done. I am angry for this reason. I feel the ring carries a meaning that is much greater than its monetary value.
